Geological database

The geological database built for the field

An exploration and production geological database — collars to assays — designed around real logging workflows.

Positioning

When the spreadsheet no longer keeps up with your exploration data

XplorCore takes over: a real geological database — validation, QAQC and traceability — built around the geologist's real work, from field to office.

Offline-first

No server, no connection required. SQLite runs inside the app: a field camp with no reliable link can log, validate and QAQC a full program without touching a network.

Designed from the logging table

Every validation rule and workflow — trench logging, alpha/beta core orientation, lab reconciliation — comes from real logging sessions, not a requirements document.

From spreadsheets to a real database

For teams still running their programs on spreadsheets who want the rigour of real software — validation, QAQC, traceability — finally within reach.

The product

One tool, the whole exploration workflow

From collars to assays, XplorCore covers every step: surveys, logging, the sample lifecycle, QAQC and multi-format export.

Collars & survey

Planned and as-built coordinates side by side; trenches and pits handled as holes, not a bolt-on.

Interval logging

Lithology, alteration, mineralization, weathering — auto-chained entry, real-time overlap detection, comparable logging passes.

Geotechnical & recovery

RQD, core recovery and geotechnical logging alongside geology.

Sample lifecycle

Collection through dispatch, with auto-generated chain-of-custody forms.

QAQC engine

Duplicates, blanks and standards evaluated automatically, with control charts and lab-aware thresholds.

Desurvey & structure

Minimum-curvature 3D trajectory live in the app; oriented-core (α/β) or direct dip/strike.

Intercepts

Parametrized cut-off grade engine with internal-dilution tolerance, per element.

Import & reanalysis

Import wizard (alias-matching column mapping, quarantine for out-of-range values); superseded results are archived, never overwritten.

Multi-format export

Datamine, Surpac, Leapfrog, Micromine, Vulcan and GeoJSON from the same dataset.

The technology

A desktop architecture, by design

Geologists work where the drill is, not where the server is. So XplorCore is a desktop, offline-first application — with no infrastructure to deploy.

App

Electron + React + Vite. Cross-platform desktop client, single installer, no IT deployment.

Database

SQLite, in-process (sql.js / WebAssembly). The whole project in one portable file — no server, no DBA, no connectivity dependency.

Data exchange

Single-file JSON project export / import — moves a full project between machines or teammates.

Schema

40+ tables, closed reference lists via foreign keys, DB-level triggers (depth, overlap, QAQC) and a full audit trail.

Reporting

Native Word (.docx) generation for QAQC reports and chain-of-custody forms — no template software on the receiving end.

Locale

Fully bilingual French / English interface, built in from the start, not bolted on.

Who it's for

Professional-grade data, within your team's reach

XplorCore brings the validation, QAQC and traceability of a professional database into a tool built around the way exploration teams actually work in the field.

Junior & mid-tier explorers

Currently running programs out of spreadsheets, who need real validation and QAQC discipline in a tool that's simple to adopt.

Francophone & bilingual teams

Working in markets where most geological database software is English-only by default.

The geologist logging core

Rather than the IT department procuring the software — the workflows are shaped by what happens at the logging table.
